In 1995 former Georgia Tech All-American and College Football Hall of Fame member, George Morris, founded the Atlanta Chapter of the National Football Foundation. Every year as a part George Morris’s personal vision, the Atlanta Chapter has been committed to awarding scholarships to deserving Senior Student Athletes and Student Managers in the State of Georgia. This event was George’s personal pride & joy. Sadly, George passed away in 2007. His vision was continued by Dennis Caniglia and furthered by a merger in 2013 between the Touchdown Club of Atlanta and the National Football Foundation – creating a newly named, improved and invigorated Touchdown Club of Atlanta National Football Foundation Chapter.

Selection of scholarship winners is based on well-rounded student athletes, managers and cheerleaders who demonstrate leadership in the classroom and community as well as contribution to the football program. The criteria for selection are Athletics or contribution to the team (40%), Academics (40%) and Community Service (20%). Head coaches are asked to provide letters of recommendation.

There are 3 types of scholarships awarded are for Scholar Athlete, Scholar Manager, and Scholar Cheerleader.
