1995 Bobby Dodd National Lineman of the Year

Andy Katzenmoyer, Westerville South High School (Westerville, Ohio). LB 6-4, 245 lbs.

Katzenmoyer had plenty of accolades to go along with his outstanding on the field performance as a senior. As evidence, he was named: USA TODAY All-USA Team Defensive Player of the Year for 1995, chosen as Ohio’s Mr. Football 1995, two-time all-stater in Ohio, Central Division, Player of the Year, co-Defensive All-Ohio Player of the Year, selected by the Detroit Free Press as Midwest Player of the Year, Chosen as Columbus (Ohio) Touchdown Club’s Defensive Player of the Year also was the recipient of Reebok and PARADE MAGAZINE All-American awards.

A finalist for the Sam B. Nicola Award, Katzenmoyer as a senior made 88 tackles, 53 of them solo while serving as the co-captain of his football team. Katzenmoyer  also participated in Varsity baseball and basketball. Plans to attend Ohio State University in the fall of 1996.
