The accolades have piled up for Michael Usry: named to the “Super Southern 100” by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, named 2A Player of the Year by the Florida High School Athletic Association and the Tallahassee Quarterback Club, Bluechip Illustrated All-american, a USA TODAY All.-USA honorable mention selection, All-State selection his junior and senior year by the Orlando Sentinnel, named to the Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star team, and was a finalist for Mr. Football for the state of Florida in region 2A.
Usry had 5109 career yards and 46 touchdowns in three years as a starter and led his team to 12-2 record his senior season and a runner-up finish in the 2A state championship game. He also participated in baseball, basketball, and track and graduated early with a 3.4 grade point average while a member of the national honor society. He has enrolled at UGA as a freshman for the winter quarter.
